In 2022, I traveled alone to Davao City, Philippines, in search of a poor village school to support through a major project involving rebuilding, a library, and a computer lab.
Despite extensive efforts and meetings with educators and officials, I was unable to identify a suitable school. While waiting for responses, I helped the local community by distributing food, clothing, and treats to children.
During my stay, I encountered a struggling single mother caring for 3 children and a disabled parent, who lacked basic sanitation facilities. Moved by their situation, I organized the construction of an indoor toilet and shower for them. Though the original mission wasn’t fulfilled, my efforts brought safety and dignity to a family in need.
